Why Do You Need To Be Prepared? Why Should You Get First Aid Training?

Threats and emergencies are constantly on the news. Even everyday situations can quickly become dangerous. An oncoming driver not paying attention whilst driving…

Are you prepared for the worst? Ready to assist and save a stranger’s life? Or be ready to aid someone close to you?

First Aid involves everything from putting people into the recovery position when they are unconscious, performing CPR to keep blood circulating and the person receiving oxygen, applying bandages to reduce blood loss or aiding someone who is suffering from severe sun stroke.

First Aid is absolutely necessary for countless situations to help someone at the very least from suffering further harm. Some of the methods may seem like common sense. Others are very specific. A good first aid course will cover methods for all potential emergencies.

Do you know what to do when someone…

  • Suffers from an asthma attack and can’t breathe?
  • Suffers from a severe allergic reaction?
  • Has a deep cut and is losing a lot of blood?
  • Has lost consciousness and isn’t breathing?
  • Is suspected of suffering from a heart attack or stroke?

Often minutes or even seconds will make the difference before the emergency services arrive.

First Aid Can Increase Your Value to Employers

Many employers regard first aid as a valuable skill. Not only can it be a compulsory job requirement, but having a

trained first aid employee at hand also makes the work environment safer for other employees, customers and anyone to whom you owe a duty of care.

Having a first aid qualification on your resume frames you as a responsible and caring person willing to spend time educating yourself for the benefit of co-workers, friends, and family.

However, first aid is not only looking after someone else when they have been injured. First aid also involves learning to look after and protect yourself from catching possible infections and diseases from casualties in emergency situations.

Our courses will cover all of this and more so that you can be ready to help when others need you most.
